Dr. Duran: The best vaccine against COVID-19 is still handwashing and social distancing

Havana, April 15 (RHC)—With no prospects for an effective vaccine for COVID-19 soon, Cuba´s Chief Epidemiologist Dr. Francisco Duran says that the best options for protection still are isolation, hand washing, social distancing, and the use of face masks.

Speaking at the daily COVID-19 media update Wednesday, the doctor said that trials for a new vaccine are underway in China and the United States, but that no concrete results are expected until mid-year of 2021.
