Santo Domingo, Jan 18 (Prensa Latina) The Public Health Medical Guidance and Monitoring Commission announced that some 30 Dominican athletes infected with Covid-19 at the Olympic Villa are clinically stable and with mild symptoms.

According to the medical report, the situation improves and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and the Ministry of Public Health reinforced the monitoring of athletes who are staying in the aforementioned place.
On Saturday, the team of doctors who treat the athletes received 30 kits of medications for mild symptoms, 2,100 facemasks, a box of antibacterial gel and other products to treat and prevent the disease.

Last week, that group of athletes tested positive for Covid-19 after returning from the break for Christmas and New Year festivities. In tests made on December 20, all of them tested negative.

About 120 people, among athletes, coaches, physical trainers and support personnel, are living at the Olympic Villa. They follow the protocol indicated by the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, the Tokyo 2020 Games Mission Headquarters and the Dominican Olympic Committee.
