Moroccan friendship associations and the Cuban embassy in this capital will celebrate the Day of Cuban Culture with several activities, prior to the 20 of October anniversary, according to diplomatic sources.

This commemoration will include talks by cultural personalities on topics that will be of interest to Internet users, mainly in this North African country, where the cultural and academic development of Cuba is closely monitored.

Planned to be online due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the celebration will also include talks by Dr. Patricia Perez, who will offer a brief overview of Cuban Culture.

David Padilla, from the Lorenzo Padilla Foundation, will also share experiences of his grandfather's artistic and teaching career, a member of the Montparnasse Artists Club and recipient of the first scholarship of the Cuban Revolution to study arts at the Prado Museum in Madrid.

Lorenzo Padilla received many awards and prizes, especially the Cuban Culture Medal, the French Senate Medal, and Monaco's GemlucArt Grand Prix d'Honneur, according to the source.

To end the day, Luis Alberto Saavedra, several times awarded painter and professor at the Central University of Ecuador, will hold a talk entitled 'Color in the identity of Cuban culture.'

The intellectual's dissertation will approach the work of renowned Cuban artists and will place Wifredo Lam as its greatest exponent, said the sources of the Cuban embassy in Rabat.

This event is organized by the Friendship and Solidarity Association between Morocco and Latin America and the Friendship and Solidarity Association between Cubans and Moroccans of France.
