Cuba's President analyzes recreation strategies in Covid-19 times

Havana, Oct 1 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel urged on Thursday to analyze the existing recreation strategies given the need to seek alternatives to coexist with the hygienic-epidemiological measures demanded by the Covid-19 pandemic.
 
During a meeting in which summer activities were assessed as part of the Recreation Program, the president insisted on the exhaustive study of the operation of all recreational centers to adjust their offers and continue their work, but in a responsible way.

The head of State pointed out that in the current scenario, where people have to learn to coexist with the novel coronavirus, everything that can be done from recreation is vital to recover from the psychological impact of isolation, self-quarantine and social distancing, the presidency's website reviews.

In that sense, Diaz-Canel stressed the importance of the community, which demonstrated its potential in the summer stage through a strategy with the neighborhoods own resources that boosted local artistic talent.

The leader also highlighted the role of the contents of television, radio and social networks, which in this period became essential platforms to bring artistic and cultural proposals to the population, in addition to allowing interaction and the development of capacities of the public. During the meeting, also attended by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, the president emphasized that the current stage will require high individual, family and social responsibility, and the institutions must create recreational spaces appropriate to the epidemiological situation.
