New Delhi, Mar 9 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca arrived in India on Tuesday, heading a delegation that includes representatives from the agriculture, renewable energy, and biopharmaceutical sectors.

The Cuban minister and the group accompanying him arrived at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport from Doha, the capital of Qatar, where they participated in the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5).

Malmierca addressed that meeting on behalf of the Group of 77 plus China, where he defended the LDC5’s right to receive international assistance, especially from the most developed nations.

In Doha, the Cuban representatives also denounced the genocidal and criminal economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the Government of the United States on the Cuban people for more than six decades.

On Thursday, Minister Malmierca is attending a meeting in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, in the Deccan Plateau, the fourth populous Indian city and center of the country’s high-tech industry.

On Friday, the Cuban delegation will visit the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry at noon and later they will attend a forum on business opportunities in Cuba.

The Cuban delegation plans to visit the International Manyata Software Technology Park in Bangalore on Saturday.
