The VII National Meeting of Cubans Residing in Spain ended today in Galicia, with a call for unity, support and solidarity, and condemnation of the US blockade.
The event was held in Vilaboa de Pontevedra, within the tribute to the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí, in commemoration of the 130th anniversary of his fall in combat on May 19.
In this context, the Federation of Associations of Cubans Resident in Spain (Facre) evaluated the actions carried out in the last three years with Cuba, which included the shipment of a container, in addition to more than 14 tons of donations to health centers, social and institutional projects.
Vertically, the groups demanded the end of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade for more than six decades, and strongly denounced the unjust inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
The Consul General of Cuba for Galicia, Asturias and Cantabria, Ingrid Izquierdo, was in charge of the opening remarks of the two-day meeting, which also included the intervention of the Tourism Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in Spain, Niurka Pérez Denis, who spoke about the impact on the sector and the work with the Travel Agencies.
