Havana, August 5 (RHC)-- Cuban youths ratified their support to the Revolution, the Communist Party, and the Government of the Caribbean nation through a caravan that traveled several kilometers of Havana on Thursday.

The demonstrators flocked to the Cuban Malecon, riding bikes, skateboards, rolling skates, and cars carrying Cuban flags and chanting slogans supporting the Revolution.

The caravan, convened by the Young Communist League, paid tribute to the 55th anniversary of the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Organization of Students (OCLAE), the International Youth Day on August 12,  and the 95th anniversary of the birth of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro on August 13.

It also celebrated the popular victory of August 5, 1994, when the attempts to subvert the social order supported by the majority of the people in the country were overthrown, with Fidel Castro at the head of the triumph.

In exclusive remarks to Radio Havana Cuba, Gerardo Hernandez, a former Cuban Five, National Hero of the Republic, and current National Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, said that there were calls for the Cuban people to rise against the Revolution on this date.

“All the contrary is happening here today. You can see all these people defending the Revolution because they know what is going on. They know the plan of imperialism to topple the Revolution. The imperialists have been dreaming for that for many years,” he said.

Hernandez added that even though media outlets try to portray participants as not the Cuban people, he stressed they are the real people who recognize the island’s problems but are willing to fight to solve them from within the Revolution and defending it.

In concluding, Gerardo Hernandez told  US President Joe  Biden
