Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel urged the people on Tuesday to do the best of efforts in the fight against Covid-19, to overcome the new outbreak of the disease that the country is going through.

In his Twitter account, the president used a popular expression to refer to the work that must be done, urging to 'give the best, the Cuban way', to 'overcome the current outbreak of the epidemic.'

On Monday, in the meeting of the temporary work group for the prevention and control of the coronavirus, the Head of State ratified the importance of effective research to detect asymptomatic patients.

The infection with SARS-CoV-2 showed a rebound in the Caribbean nation during August and the beginning of September, mainly in the territories of Havana, Artemisa, Pinar del Rio and Ciego de Avila.

Faced with this situation, Diaz-Canel insisted on not neglecting prevention measures, not even in those provinces that are gradually returning to normal and do not have cases of Covid-19 for some time.

The Public Health Minister, Jose Angel Portal, said at the meeting the island has 17 local transmission events open, the largest number of them in the capital.

Meanwhile, Ciego de Avila is intensifying the hygienic-sanitary protocols, taking into account the increase in the number of sick people in the last few days.
