With the concert Del Verso al Mar, Cuban Liuba María Hevia invites to enjoy the magic of her compositions, which will inaugurate the season of activities of the MalecónArt 255 cultural center.

The institution belonging to the Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba company will host the concert of the outstanding singer-songwriter next Saturday, January 28, and will shine with a special light when the artist ‘takes us to discover her eternal magic world of poetry, music and songs’, the invitation to the event refers.

Since last December, the performer announced the production of the album “Para volverte a ver” (To See You Again), of which she recently released the previews “Valga que sé valga que soy” , dedicated to the founders of the Nueva Trova Movement and “Rumor en el Cielo”,(Rumour in Heaven) inspired by the Virgin of the Caridad del Cobre.

I wrote “To see you again” in the middle of the confinement due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I wanted to thank for everything I have, I owe a lot to life, to my family… obstacles have never stopped me, the creator announced.

She also highlighted the presence in this selection of new songs and others saved until now, such as “Nunca olvido” (I never forget), dedicated to her maternal grandmother and “Serenata bendita” (Blessed Serenade), in which she sings to the Virgin of Regla, Yemayá.

More than a dozen musicians participated in the album “Para volverte a ver”, which includes a total of 15 songs, recorded by Javier Valladares, while the mastering and mixing are the result of the work of Orestes Águila.

In addition to the concert at MalecónArte 255, Hevia will perform on February 11 at the Havana Amphitheater, a space that will be an opportunity to listen to recent compositions and other classics from her repertoire, which includes more than twenty phonograms.

The singer, who was awarded the Distinction for National Culture, has performed with foreign artists such as Puerto Rico’s Danny Rivera, Dominicans Maridalia Hernández and Víctor Víctor, as well as Spaniards Ana Belén and Javier Ruibal.

In 2012, the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) named her Goodwill Ambassador, due to the social work she does for children, with shows in neighborhoods and hospitals in Cuba.
