Havana, May 16 (ACN) Cuban first deputy Foreign Trade and Investment Minister Ana Teresita Gonzalez is meeting a working agenda in France, including meetings with local officials and entrepreneurs in a bid to boost bilateral relations and contribute to the social and economic development of Cuba.

Gonzalez arrived in Paris on Friday and closed her working visit on Monday after exposing the island’s foreign investment opportunities, favored by current policies aimed at strengthening the performance of socialist companies and opening avenues for the development of the non-state economic sector, according to PL news agency.

The Cuban government official also addressed the participation of France, which is among Cuba’s major social commercial partners, at Havana’s International Trade Fair, scheduled for November 14-18 after two years of absence due to the pandemic.

Gonzalez met with representatives of the French Development Agency and France’s Entrepreneurial Movement about Cuban economic priorities. She also met with business people and personalities from different sectors during an event organized by the Cuba Cooperation France Association.

During the exchange, participants conveyed messages of condolences and support after the May 6 accident at Havana’s Saratoga Hotel, which claimed dozens of lives and injured many people.

Gonzalez also tackled the hosting by Havana of the 7th Bilateral Economic and Commercial Commission to be held by the end of this year. The Sixth Commission was held in Paris last December setting up six cooperation accords in the areas of agriculture, water resources and health.
On Monday, Gonzalez held a meeting with diplomats, officials and workers at the Cuban embassy in Paris and with members of the island’s Permanent Mission at UNESCO.
