The Ministry of Public Health informed that for COVID-19, 8,994 samples were studied in the last 24 hours, resulting in 86 positive samples. Cuba already accumulates 6 887 positive cases.

The 86 diagnosed cases are Cuban, 83 native, and three imported from Holguín, Santiago de Cuba, and Guantánamo provinces.

The province of Pinar del Rio reported 57 cases.

Cuban authorities described the situation of Covid-19 in that western province, which currently has the highest rate of incidence per 100 thousand inhabitants in the country, as complex.

During a meeting on the disease, the Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal, said that 493 active patients are being treated in the nation, of which 236 belong to that territory.

This ratifies the complicated epidemiological situation in that province. Four local transmission events and nine outbreak controls remain, the head of the meeting, headed by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, emphasized.

Since the beginning of the outbreak, 356 cases were notified in Pinar del Río, which generated more than six thousand contacts, informed on his part Governor Rubén Ramos, quoted by a report of Cuba's Presidency.
