Cuba reports 1057 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths

Havana, May 17 (RHC)--Cuban health authorities reported on Monday 1057 new COVID-19 infections and 10 deaths. 67 were imported cases and 990 were autochthonous.
With these figures, the Caribbean country accumulates 125,511 diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2, and 814 deaths since March 2020, said the national director of Epidemiology, Francisco Durán, in a televised briefing.
He explained that to date 6,892 patients are hospitalized active with the virus.
The island’s molecular biology laboratories processed 22,779 real-time PCRs.
Havana reported 581 autochthonous cases, followed by Santiago de Cuba with 69, and Mayabeque 59.
