Cuba regrets death of Paraguayan ambassador to Cuba

Cuban  President, Miguel Diaz-Canel regretted the death of the Paraguayan ambassador to the Caribbean nation, Bernardino Cano Radil, due to Covid-19.

On Twitter, the President conveyed his condolences to the Paraguayan government, the diplomat's family, and friends.

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez also expressed sadness for the passing of the Paraguayan diplomat.

Cano Radil, who served as the South American country's representative in Havana since 2015, died this Sunday at the age of 65.

According to a statement from the Paraguayan Foreign Ministry, the official stood out for his diplomatic management and his contribution to strengthening bilateral ties with Cuba.

Likewise, the message highlights his long public career and his solid academic training, as he was a doctor in Legal Sciences and a professor who taught at important universities in his country and Argentina.

The representative of Paraguay in Havana was a national deputy, where he became vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies. He was part of the Constituent Assembly in 1992 and was a member of the Governing Board of the Colorado Party and founder of the Colorado youth in exile.
