Cuba proposes the creation of international laws on cybersecurity

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 25 (ACN) The need for international laws to regulate or prohibit the use of cyberspace for subversive purposes was exposed today, in Havana, in the final session of the 1st National Workshop on Cybersecurity, by an expert in the matter.

Javier Gomez Sanchez, dean of the Faculty of Audiovisual Media Arts of the Higher Institute of Arts, delivered his lecture "Social Networks and Fourth Generation Conflicts". He explained this idea based on how companies negotiate with the data obtained from users on such platforms, in order to use them as political influence to destabilize States and governments.

In the presence of Rogelio Polanco, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and head of the Ideological Department, the specialist presented examples of cases aimed at creating feelings of hatred and discredit towards the Cuban Revolution and its institutions among the public.

At the Integrated Technological Research Complex of the Jose Antonio Echeverria Technological University of Havana (Cujae), the event, which especially Friday dedicated its first minutes to pay tribute to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro six years after his physical departure, was held since Wednesday.
