Cuba today perfects the protocols for action and establishes restrictions in territories with the highest rate of infections, as strategies against the current outbreak of Covid-19.

After a rebound in cases, the government group dealing with the pandemic recently decided to reverse the phases of the recovery stage (with respect to the health crisis) in several provinces and municipalities.

In general, according to Deputy Prime Minister Roberto Morales, there would be four provinces and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud in the stage of new normality; in phase three, two; in phase one, four; and in the epidemic stage, five.

Being in a critical phase regarding the control of Covid-19 implies limitations in transportation, the cessation of recreational activities with crowds, resorting to distance education and teleworking, among others.

Regarding the protocols, the country requires a negative PCR test for travelers from abroad as a requirement to enter the island, and performs one or two more tests of this type depending on the level of interaction that the newcomer has with the community.

Also, several territories apply a rapid antigen test to identify the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, causing the pandemic, in patients with symptoms and suspects.

These detection methods will allow health workers to better manage cases and begin treatment immediately, official sources consider.

Likewise, each district reinforces hospital capacities, prepares new isolation centers, calls for a greater perception of risk, and insists on the importance of better epidemiological work.

To evaluate the effectiveness of such measures, a government team, headed by the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, exchanged views with authorities from the provinces of Havana, Pinar del Río, Artemisa, Matanzas and Mayabeque.

These work visits will be extended to the rest of the country, also focused on evaluating the implementation of the so-called monetary regulation, which implies exchange unification, as well as wage and price reforms.

Cuba presents a complex epidemiological situation, with a total of 4,526 active patients with the disease, and a total of 20 thousand 60 diagnosed people.
