Havana, Apr 1 (Prensa Latina) The International Association of Theater for Children and Young People (ASSITEJ) confirmed that the Cuban capital will host its 21st World Congress, scheduled for 2024.

During the last session of the ASSITEJ General Assembly online, Cuba was elected unanimously to host the event, with 164 votes.

As stated by the Cuban theatrist Wilfredo Rodriguez during his speech, if this event takes place, it would be the second time that Cuba had hosted the congress, since 31 years before the 11th edition took place in Havana.

The 2020 meeting was made through Zoom Cloud Meetings due to the restrictions imposed by Covid-19, and it was used to discuss about the theater panorama in the world in times of pandemic.

ASSITEJ is a non-profit cultural body that aims to promote and defend the performing arts for children and youth.
