Cuba Film Festival: Golán defying family values

The Colombian film "Golán" is presented in this capital where it competes at the Film Festival in the category of Latin American Competition.

Golán is the journey from adolescence to adulthood of its protagonist during the process of a family that succumbs.

Colombian filmmaker Orlando Culzat wanted to film an intimate portrait of a family sunset in his first work, a film that looks at the youth universe and, above all, at the patriarchal structures planted very subtly in the privacy of homes, the filmmaker explained.

Culzat presented this Colombian feature film in the official competition section of the 27th Malaga Festival. The director considers that his film comes organically to a situation of violence.

The point is that in the patriarchy, the different can always be raped, abused, or even annihilated, said the director of “Golán”, a film considered the profound image of Colombian reality.
