Cuba congratulates Timor-Leste on independence anniversary

Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero congratulated the people and government of Timor-Leste on the occasion of the Proclamation of Independence of that Southeast Asian island nation.    

Cuba reaffirms its confidence in the continuity of the historic ties of friendship between the two nations, the head of the Cuban government said in his message through the social network X.

The Ambassador of Cuba to Timor-Leste, Alina Aldama, attended the Central Activity in the city of Dili, the capital of the country, on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence, which took place in 1975.

With the speech of President José Ramos Horta in the Special Administrative Region of Oe’cusse, the celebrations began with the presence of special delegations from Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as the Diplomatic Corps accredited in the country.
