The president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder), Osvaldo Vento, highlighted here today the support of several French cities to the training of Cuban athletes for the Paris-2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

On a visit to France, Vento and the Cuban delegation he heads toured in recent days sports facilities in a dozen municipalities and towns committed to providing sports support to the Caribbean nation, thanks to a project promoted since early last year by the Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop) association.

We had the opportunity to visit facilities that offer all the conditions for the training of our athletes and para-athletes with a view to Paris-2024, Vento told Prensa Latina, who was accompanied by the president of the Cuban Olympic Committee, Roberto León Richards, among others.

One of the issues they conveyed to us is the support in the face of the genocidal blockade imposed by the United States on the island, a policy that also severely impacts sports, he stressed.

Vento thanked the CubaCoop initiative, a project that already covers twenty territories.

CubaCoop’s president, Victor Fernandez, reiterated the commitment of the association created in 1995 to the socio-economic development of the island.
