Cuba administers more than 10 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines

Havana, Aug 3 (Prensa Latina) Cuba has administered more than 10 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines or candidates developed in the country to fight the pandemic, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported on Tuesday.
 
Statistics released by MINSAP indicate that at on August 1, 10,061,236 doses had been administered of the Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus projects, developed by the Finlay Vaccines Institute (FVI), and the first vaccine in Cuba and Latin America, Abdala, designed by Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Center(CIGB).

This way, 4,155,261 Cubans have already received at least the first injection of any of these products during the mass vaccination campaign, the health intervention, the intervention studies or clinical trials.

In addition, 3,225,507 Cubans have received the second dose and 2,680,468 people were administered the third dose, thus completing the full immunization scheme, and accounting for 23.9 percent of Cuba's population (more than 11.3 million).

Cuba has exceeded the world average in terms of people who have been vaccinated.
