Bogota, Jun 23 (Prensa Latina) The National Registrar's Office and the National Electoral Council on Thursday will deliver the credentials that certify Gustavo Petro and Francia Marquez as president and vice-president elect of Colombia.

Petro and Francia, of the Historical Pact alliance, won the runoff on Sunday, June 19, a victory that brings for the first time in more than 200 years the alternative and left-wing forces to the presidency of the country.

According to data from the Registrar’s Office, the winning presidential pair obtained 11,281,013 votes in Sunday’s runoff, for a 50.44 percent.

Meanwhile, Rodolfo Hernandez and Marelen Castillo, from the League of Anticorruption Leaders, got 10,580,412 votes, for a 47.31 percent of the valid votes.

This Thursday, Petro will also meet for the first time with outgoing President Ivan Duque, the press team of the president-elect confirmed.

On Wednesday, the next head of State appointed the transition committee that will be in charge of the transition between the outgoing and the incoming government that will take office on August 7.
