China: 792 dead and over 94 million affected by natural disasters

Beijing, Oct 10 (Prensa Latina) A total of 792 people died and over 94 million were affected by a chain of natural disasters in China.
According to the Emergency Management Ministry, China has since January suffered devastating impact of floods, gales, droughts, typhoons, earthquakes and geological phenomena, as well as snow and sand storms, more wildfires and marine disasters to varying degrees. In spite of death toll, over five million people were relocated and economic losses exceeded $44 billion.
China is currently facing an emergency situation in Shaanxi and Shanxi due to pelting cloudburts that hit both provinces since past week.
The Chinese Government sent specialized rescue teams to support assistance efforts for disaster victims, as well as to protect the material resources to cut losses. According to the latest report, as many as 120,000 people have been evacuated in Shanxi and Shaanxi due to rainfall, floods and mudslides.
