Bolivian de facto government accused of excessive charges

The de facto coup government in Bolivia -- from November 2019 tp November 2020 -- made excessive charges to thousands of young people who served in the so-called Pre-Military Service in that period, denounced the Minister of Defense of the South American country, Edmundo Novillo.

Novillo affirmed that the de facto regime led by Jeanine Áñez, who is imprisoned, charged 50 percent more for uniforms for the pre-military (young people between 15 and 19 years of age), who number just over 16,000.

The Minister of Defense explained that, on the instructions of Bolivian President Luis Arce, the money will be returned to the families

"In the framework of transparency and by instruction of President Luis Arce, we will return 450 Bolivianos of the 1,300 Bs that the Facto Government charged the pre-military," Novillo wrote on his Twitter social network account.

The official detailed that the uniform cost 850 Bolivianos, but they asked for 1,300. The overcharge was 7,163,550 bolivianos (more than 1,000,000 dollars).
