Bangladesh to receive 40 million doses of China's Covid-19 vaccines

Dhaka, Sep 21 (Prensa Latina) Bangladesh will receive in October more than 40 million doses of vaccines from the People's Republic of China to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, it was reported in Dhaka on Tuesday. This South Asian country bought 20 million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine to the Beijing Institute of Biological Products, while 20 other million doses were purchased under the Covid-19 Vaccine Global Access Fund (Covax), Prothom Alo reported.
 
Dr. Meerjady Sabrina Flora, Additional Director General of Directorate General of Health Service, expects that the shipment arrives as of October.

The Bangladesh Government plans to immunize 80 percent of a population of 173.5 million.

Bangladesh's Directorate General of Health Services stated that to date, the country has accumulated 1,545,800 contagions and 27,277 deaths since the pandemic broke out last year.
