The Acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, confirmed today that the executive branch led by her "is a constitutional government," despite the kidnapping by the United States of the elected president, Nicolás Maduro, during an attack on January 3rd.
The executive of the South American nation emphasized at a public event that "there is no uncertainty" on the matter, because the country is led by "People's Power," even though its legitimate leader has been absent for a week following the US military incursion, added the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).
"Who leads the Venezuelan people?" asked the Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela during an event at the Comuna 4 de Febrero in Sucre, Miranda state, and then emphasized: "People's Power and its constitutional government, so there is no doubt here, there are no levels of uncertainty here."
"The Venezuelan people are in charge here," insisted Rodríguez, according to AVN, "and there is a government, the government of the constitutional President Nicolás Maduro, and I have the responsibility of taking charge while his kidnapping lasts."
"We are fighting for him to return here, to our homeland, to our beloved Venezuela, because from here, the Communes, social movements, and all of Venezuela are calling for the return of our President Nicolás Maduro and our First Fighter Cilia Flores," emphasized the Acting President.
