Throughout Thursday, the singer worked in a house in El Vedado neighborhood and at the famous La Guardia restaurant, one of the first privately-owned “Paladar” restaurants to open in Havana, used as a location for the movie “Fresa y Chocolate.”

Rihanna changed clothes several times for a photo session and travelled, together with video equipment, in classic American cars from the 40s and 50s, called “almendrones” and still common in the city.

The heavy security team that accompanied her entourage was tense and aggressive with photographers trying to capture images of the popular singer.

No fixed date has yet been set for the precipitant release of the singer’s eighth album, after the success of singles from it including “American Oxygen,” “Bitch better have my money,” “James Joint” and “FourFiveSeconds,” which she did with rapper Kanye West and Paul McCartney from the Beatles.

The pop diva arrived on a private flight from the United States on Wednesday, before heading out into the capital incognito and turning up unannounced at La Fontana, the establishment’s owner told Efe.

Since the diplomatic thaw between Cuba and United States, other celebrities to visit the island include Paris Hilton and the model Naomi Campbell.
