Ciego de Avila, Cuba, Mar 2 (Prensa Latina) Cuban visual artist Nelson Dominguez is showing his artworks at the Raul Martinez gallery in this city, where he is presenting his exhibition Mi Amiga Alicia (My Friend Alicia), on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8.

The traveling exhibition consists of 45 artworks in different techniques, with which Dominguez highlights moments in the professional life of Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso, using very expressive elements.

Based on photos, the National Visual Arts Prize winner reflects sublime instants of the ballerina, choreographer and founder of the National Ballet of Cuba, with the intention of creating artworks resulting from the moment, the will and inspiration.

With the exhibition, consisting of sculptures, engravings, ceramics, installations and oils on canvas in medium and large formats, the artist is paying tribute to one of the most relevant figures in the history of dance in Cuba and the world.
