Brasilia, Dec 16 (Prensa Latina) The Workers' Party and sectors related to this political force organized this Monday a celebration to denounce the dismantling of culture in the country and celebrate the freedom of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

The celebration will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, at Circo Voador, in Rio de Janeiro, an emblematic venue for big concerts where more than 500 artists and intellectuals will be present.

Jair Bolsonaro's government eliminated the Ministry of Culture, and the portfolio became part of the Ministry of Sports and Citizenship with a tiny budget.

'It will be a beautiful way to end a terrible year for Brazil, for democracy, for people's rights, for the Brazilian people,' said Emir Sader, one of the organizers of the event.

The release of Lula rekindled the hope in Brazilians that it is possible to overcome current tragedies and rescue Brazil. 'Lula begins to travel across Brazil to carry this message of hope,' he stressed.

The event will also honor the memory and legacy of singer Beth Carvalho, a friend of Lula, who passed away this year.

On November 8, Lula was released after serving 580 days of political imprisonment in the Federal Police Superintendency of Curitiba, capital of the southern state of Parana.
