Iglesias’s “Bailando,” a number with the collaboration of Cuban acts Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona, was the hit that took the Spanish performer to the top in the main categories of the awards, which will be presented on Nov. 28 in Las Vegas.

Iglesias also got nominations for “Bailando” for best urban music performance and best urban music song awards, while his work with American bachatero Romeo Santes on “Loco” got him a nomination for best tropical song.

Spanish group Jarabe de Palo bagged three nominations, while Nina Pastori, Paco de Lucia and Bumbury received two nominations each.

The main attraction at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas will be Calle 13, with nine nominations.

The Puerto Rican rap fusion band was nominated in the categories of recording, album and song of the year, interpretation, album and song, and urban music.

Colombia’s Carlos Vives will go to Las Vegas nominated for six awards; Cubans Descemer Bueno has expectations in five categories, New York-born Marc Anthony and Prince Royce, Uruguayan Jorge Drexler and Cuba’s Gente de Zona received four nominations each.

The Latin Grammy organization released the list of 47 candidates for awards via Twitter and a video that included fans and artists such as Miguel Bose, Carlos Vives, Prince Royce, Daniela Mercury and Gilberto Santa Rosa.

Organizers reviewed a record more than 10,000 entries this year and ballots for the final round of voting will be sent on Oct. 1 and must be received by Oct. 22.
