The heads of delegations to the 35th Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), warmly welcomed in Saint John the invitation of the President of the Cuban councils of State and Ministers, Army General Raul Castro, to attend the 5th CARICOM-Cuba Summit to be held in Havana on December 8.

On Friday morning, the island's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, bearer of the invitation, addressed the Caribbean leaders, who expressed their condemnation of the blockade and the inclusion of Cuba in the list of states sponsoring terrorism, and reiterated their solidarity with Cuba in regional and international forums. Likewise, they ratified their gratitude for the historic Cuban cooperation with the Caribbean, the Granma newspaper reported on Saturday.
