Cuban Relay Finishes Fifth in World Championship

William Collazo, Raidel Acea, Adrian Chacon and Yoandis Lescay improved their semifinal performance and with time of 3:02.43 minutes they escorted U.S.A. (2:57.25), Bahamas (2:57.59) Trinidad and Tobago (2:58.34) and Great Britain (3:00.32).
This result earned Cubans four points that allowed them finishing 20th with a small delegation completed with the men's 4x100 meters.

This performance also granted them a ticket for the next World Championship, event which Cuba's last inclusion was in Goteborg'95 where they finished sixth (3:07.65).

Jamaica won the 4x100 meters event (37.77 seconds) and was escorted by Trinidad and Tobago (38.04) and Great Britain (38.19).

Cuba´s quartet, made up by Yaniel Carrero, Roberto Skyers, Reinier Mena and Yadiel Luis, achieved a good performance in its qualifying heat (38.44) but it was not enough to reach the A final.

Then they finished second in the B final with 38.60 behind Ukraine (38.53).
