Audiovisual Honors Beloved Cuban Troubadour Eduardo Sosa
The Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) of Cuba will soon release a music video on digital platforms as a tribute to troubadour and Honorary Member of the organization Eduardo Sosa, who remains in the memory of his people.
Performed by Annie Garcés and directed by Anthony Bravo and Ara Estudio, this production “is another show of affection for a creator and friend whom we will always remember,” said AHS president Yasel Toledo on his Facebook page.
Eduardo Sosa (1972–2025) won over audiences in his homeland and beyond with the sonority of his compositions, marked by a traditional and deeply Cuban style.
Throughout his career, he represented Cuba at various international events and shared the stage with renowned Cuban artists such as Silvio Rodríguez, Pablo Milanés, and Compay Segundo.
His repertoire includes songs, blues ballads, and genres of Cuban music. He also occasionally incorporated pieces by Cuban and foreign composers into his catalog.
He took his musicianship to countries such as Spain, Mexico, and Chile, where he was warmly received by audiences, while on Cuban television he co-hosted the program Entre manos with Marta Campos, dedicated to promoting troubadour song.
Sosa chaired the organizing committee of the Pepe Sánchez Trova Festival in Santiago de Cuba for several years, a role he carried out alongside his distinguished work as a composer and performer.
The musician passed away in the early morning of February 12, 2025, at the age of 52, as a result of a hemorrhagic stroke.
