Venezuela has received about 9,817 emigrants until Friday with the ''Vuelta a la Patria'' (Return to the Homeland) Plan, promoted by the Executive since August.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on Twitter that about 71 percent of Venezuelans returned by land and other 29 percent by air sponsored by the state-owned airline Conviasa.

The balance from the Foreign Ministry reflects that Brazil is from where the largest number of nationals returned, with a figure amounting to 6,663 people (68.52 percent), followed by Peru with 1,102 (12.36 percent), Ecuador 1,108 (10.42 percent) and Colombia 395 (4.06 percent).

About 186 also returned from the Dominican Republic (1.91 percent), 171 from Argentina (1.75 percent), 91 from Chile (0.93 percent) and one from Panama (0.01 percent), the Ministry posted.

The air bridge instructed by President Nicolas Maduro to boost the program did 29 flights until Thursday, 12 of them from Peru, another 12 from Ecuador, two arrived from Argentina and the Dominican Republic, respectively, and one from Chile.

The Foreign Ministry reported that another 9,565 Venezuelans are registered in embassies and consulates in most of the countries of the region in order to benefit from the repatriation project.

The 'Vuelta a la Patria' Plan aims to support Venezuelans who emigrated, but those who after facing an adverse reality in other nations, now wish to return to Venezuela, to study, work for peace and socio-economic prosperity of the nation.
