Brownstone exhibition at the José Martí Memorial

He has added these new pieces to his magnificent donation to Cuba and the complements his extensive selection of works, which are included in the best of avant-garde art of the 19th and 20th centuries.
On several occasions, Gilbert Brownstone has made significant donations of artworks to Cuban institutions. Actually, the recipient of this invaluable delivery is not a particular institution, but the people of Cuba, with which Brownstone has braided ties of affinity and sensitive friend and where he has been welcomed with sincere expressions of admiration and respect.
Brownstone who has been linked to noble endeavors, especially that related to the cause for the liberation of the Cuban Five antiterrorist fighters, he explained the reason of his generous donation by saying that he considers it a fair reciprocity for so much shared love.
The schedule of works donated by Brownstone who is distinguished by the State Council with the Friendship Distinction, has had as starting point an exhibition at the Art Center of Holguin province, in the eastern region of Cuba. It has been toured through different cities and it has had well acceptance on the part of those who enjoy these kinds of presentations and they have showed interest, enthusiasm and gratitude.
The National Council of Plastic Arts together with the National Fine Arts Museum and the Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center exhibit and watch these parts that contribute to the enrichment of the Cubans’ spiritual life.
José Martí Memorial is located on Paseo Street and Independence Avenue, in the municipality of Plaza de la Revolucion, in Havana city.
