Cuban Ambassador Presents Credentials in Nepal

Cuban ambassador in India concurring in Nepal, Oscar Martínez, presented presented his credentials to the president of the country, Bidya Devi Bhandari, with whom he addressed the strengthening of bilateral ties.

During the meeting, the president sent greetings to his Cuban counterpart, Raul Castro; and to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

She pointed out the historical relations between the two countries and the collaboration in the context of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries, informed the Cuban embassy through a statement.

Both parties expressed their willingness to develop bilateral ties and their interest in strengthening cooperation in the areas of health, biotechnology and sports.

In this context, Bhandari acknowledged the work of a Cuban medical brigade in Nepal,while considering that it left an indelible mark and reiterated her country's support for the struggle of the Cuban people against the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States to the island more than half a century ago.
