The 8th Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba is going to be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, July 28th-30th, according to a call provided by the Organizing Committee to Radio Rebelde.
The meeting will address issues related to the US blockade against Cuba, the return of the illegally occupied territory in the US Naval Base in Guantanamo as well as the release of the Puerto Rican’s freedom fighter Oscar Lopez Rivera, subjected to imprisonment for more than 35 in the US.
The event is sponsored by the Solidarity with Cuba Campaign and the Committee of Solidarity with Cuba from Puerto Rico, coordinated with the ICAP (Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People). It will also assess the different processes taking place in the region, the projections of continental solidarity and the development of new initiatives to strengthen our nations’ integration, unity, and defense of sovereignty and independence.
Under the motto “For the Unity and Integration of Our People!”, the document highlights the commitment of closing ranks around the Republic of Cuba, which is world model of dignity and resistance against the US harassment, subversive war, and threats.
More than 300 delegates from a dozen countries will attend the event.
