Amat, who tries to earn the number 53rd berth for the Americas to the Brazilian Olympics, in coming August, seeks to accumulate points for the first time in these events, which to date she has only obtained in Pan American Cups.
Alejandro Puerto, national commissioner of the sport, told ACN that the Cuban representative will travel to the Asian continent accompanied by her coach Dióseles Fernandez, and they both will go to the Chinese city at any time from tomorrow.
Amat should finish among the 30 and 40 first competitors to win points for the ranking and keep alive her hopes of qualification, especially to opt for one of the four "new flag" seats, which grants tickets to the first athlete from each continental classification, whose country hasn't got berths yet, Puerto noted.
Similarly, the executive specified that the Caribbean athlete will try to get her classification by the ways still available, since waiting for one of the two invitations from the Tripartite Commission of the International Union of the sport is more complicated.
