GM Vladimir Onischuk wins Stockholm Chess Challenge

The new title tournament for young talents, Stockholm Chess Challenge 2016, was organized in Kista, Stockholm, from 8th to 13th of March.
The event was a 9-round Swiss invitational tournament open to titled players at the age of 25 years old or younger. A total of 16 participants from Belarus, Canada, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine, took part at the first edition of the tournament.
The Ukrainian GM Vladimir Onischuk managed to win his last game vs Joachim Birger Nilsen from Norway to secure his victory. Onischuk scored 7/9 points to grab the top prize in the amount of 10 000 SEK.
The runner-up GM Daniil Lintchevski from Russia finished half a point behind the winner, while the representative of the host nation, GM Erik Blomqvist, took the bronze with 6 points.
