Cuban embassy in U.S. to hold Consorcio Cuba event

On January 28th, Cuba’s embassy in the US held an event from the organization Consorcio Cuba. Consorcio Cuba is a project of the Howard Baker Forum gathering enterprises, non-profit organizations, investors, academicians and entrepreneurs. This organization also monitors and analyzes the process of normalizing relations between Cuba and the United States. Besides, it provides its members with accurate information on the new business opportunities emerging in Cuba.
Former senator Thomas A. Daschle delivered the opening speech. Later, Cuban ambassador in the United States, Jose Ramon Cabanas Rodriguez, welcomed the more than 60 participants in the event. Other personalities exchanged viewpoints in the event and they were Jodi Bond, vice-president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; Daniel J. Jones, vice-president of the Daschle Group, and Scott Campbell, Chairman of the Howard Baker Forum.
Ambassador Jose Ramon Cabanas thanked Howard Baker Forum and Consorcio Cuba for such an awesome initiative. He also highlighted the leadership of Senators Nancy Kassebaum and Tom Daschle. Cabanas also referred to the upcoming events in the bilateral relation and noted the 163rd anniversary of the birth of Jose Marti and the importance of his legacy for all Cubans.
Members of Consorcio Cuba highlighted the importance of the First Conference Consorcio Cuba on February 18th. It will take place in Washington D.C., at the headquarters of the U.S. Peace Institute
