Cuba approved the construction of a modern plant for the productions of cigarettes in Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM by its Spanish acronym) that will allow meeting the export plans.

The announcement in the framework of the 33rd International Trade Fair of Havana, FIHAV-2015, will nearly double what the joint venture Brascuba SA, based in the Cuban capital, is currently producing.

Directors of the Cuban-Brazilian entity told ACN that the modern building to be built at that enclave will have machines capable of raising labor productivity.
These means will also make possible to obtain more competitive products to suit the needs of customers who prefer these cigarettes.

They explain that the manufacturing center of the Cuban capital can no longer respond to development programs of the institution in the absence of space to store the goods or to install the necessary means to optimize the manufacturing process.

We are at the top of the installed industrial capacity and a shift is necessary to meet export plans ever higher, they stated.

Adriano Rusak, its industrial manager, informed that the expectations of his company on the island has been over fulfilled, that is why they recently signed a contract for 40 more years of collaboration with the Caribbean nation.

The constant search for new products, such as Cohiba Predilecto cigarettes, has enabled them to provide 200 million dollars to the Cuban economy in two decades of work.
