US President Donald Trump stated this Thursday that "going in and wrecking" Cuba is likely the only option left for his Administration to force a policy change.

"I don't think you can put much more pressure, unless you go in and wreck the place," he declared in an interview with Hugh Hewitt, who asked him if he would authorize a naval "quarantine" like the one activated against Venezuela.

"All their lifeblood, their whole life was Venezuela. They had the oil, Venezuela's money," Trump asserted, before indicating that Cuba lost "a lot of soldiers" during the US attack launched against the Caribbean country.

Trump then reiterated his praise for the US military following the January 3rd aggression. When Hewitt asked if he thought the Cuban leader, Miguel Díaz-Canel, could "fall" like Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, he expressed certainty.

"Yeah, Cuba is hanging by a thread. Cuba is in grave trouble. Cuba got all their money for protecting. They were like a protector. They're tough, a tough people. A great people," stated the Republican.

He subsequently indicated that this has been said about the island "for many years." "Cuba has been in trouble for the last 25 years. They haven't gone all the way down, but I think they're very close to their own will," he added.

Trump, who has increased US interventionism in the world, threatened in the same interview to unleash "hell" on the Islamic Republic of Iran if they kill protesters.
