The Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) is finalizing details today for the 30th edition of the Longina Festival of Troubadours Sings to Corona, which will be hosted in the coming days by the central province of Villa Clara. This year's festival is dedicated to singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez.
This edition will take place from January 7 to 11, with the support of numerous institutions and artists, featuring five days of concerts, exhibitions, and cultural gatherings, according to the schedule published by the organization on its Facebook profile.
The program includes activities in the provincial capital, Santa Clara, and other municipalities of the province, such as Caibarién, where the traditional pilgrimage to the tomb of Manuel Corona—the festival's inspiration—will take place.
The inauguration will be held on Wednesday, January 7, at the Pórtico Gallery, with the photographic exhibition Carto(photography) of a Silvio Tour, by artist Kaloian Santos. In the evening, the theater of the Central University Marta Abreu de Las Villas will host the first concert, featuring Adrián Berazaín, Nelson Valdés, El Kikirí de Cisneros, and Venezuelan musician Ernesto Luis.
The venues scheduled for the 30th edition of Longina include the Latin American Center, Casa del Joven Creador, the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Martí Library, the Camilo Cinema, the Puppet Theater, and the iconic Mejunje, among others.
In addition to national talent, the participation of international artists from Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, and Germany is expected.
On Saturday, January 10, the renowned troubadour Silvio Rodríguez will engage in a dialogue with singer-songwriters at the Martí Library, where his photographic exhibition Portraits will also be displayed. Simultaneously, Amaury Pérez Vidal (National Music Prize 2025) and Abel Acosta will offer a concert at the El Mejunje cultural center.
Among the national guests for the event are Fidel Díaz Castro, Santa Massiel, Ariel Barreiros, La Trovuntivitis, Roly Berrío, Enrique Téllez, Henry Fonseca, and Erick Sánchez, to name just a few.
The program will be enriched by book and magazine presentations, download sessions, the Poetic Ring of Caibarién, and performances in the municipalities of Santo Domingo and Manicaragua alongside artists Tony Ávila and Adrián Berazaín, respectively.
The Longina Sings to Corona Festival celebrates the art of the singer-songwriter and the troubadour legacy, solidifying its position as one of the most important cultural events in Cuba, bringing together creators from several generations in an atmosphere of shared art and commitment to the genre.
