The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, criticized the United States government today for evading the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) before the United Nations Human Rights Council.
“The decision of the U.S. government to absent itself from the presentation of its Universal Periodic Review before the Human Rights Council reaffirms its arrogant behavior toward multilateralism and the United Nations system,” stated the Cuban foreign minister.
Through a message posted on the social network X, Rodríguez also asserted that the decision demonstrates the “impotence” of the White House.
“It reveals its double standards, contempt, and lack of commitment and cooperation with human rights mechanisms,” the Cuban foreign minister emphasized.
