Cuban Catholic Church Coordinates Aid from the United States

The Catholic Church of Cuba is organizing humanitarian assistance from the United States for those affected by the recent passage of Hurricane Melissa through the island’s eastern region, according to reports released today.

This was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX) through a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account.

“The Catholic Church of Cuba is managing three million USD in aid for the victims of Hurricane Melissa, through Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and the Archdiocese of Miami,” the ministry’s message stated.

It also added that “the assistance will be coordinated with Cuban authorities to ensure swift and effective delivery.”
