Yunieski García: "I Will Always Say Yes to Team Cuba"

This Tuesday, the 64th National Baseball Series resumes after a one-week pause due to Hurricane Melissa, which affected the eastern part of the country.
One of the teams currently in a qualification spot at the midpoint of the championship is Artemisa. The team has relied heavily on its starting pitching and the historic closer of Cuban baseball, José A. García.
Once again, Yunieski García is proving to be fundamental to the performance of the Cazadores (Hunters). He has contributed four wins, maintains an ERA of 3.21, a WHIP of 1.11, and opposing batters are hitting just .239 against him.
The right-hander from San Antonio de los Baños, who led the Nicaraguan Professional League in ERA last year with 3.03, should be one of the pitchers for the Cuba national team at the upcoming Americas Cup.
Reflecting on his performance, García stated, "I believe I've had a good start to the championship. Regarding the Artemisa squad, I will try to help them as much as I can to see if we can make the playoffs."
Emphasizing his national pride, he added, "As for the Cuban national team, I will always say yes. It is the dream of every Cuban to be able to defend your flag in an international event."
Artemisa's own Yunieski García is expected to be one of the key pitchers for the Cuban selection that will attend the Americas Cup, an event to be held in Panama from November 13 to 22.
