Cuban Talent to Open Varadero Josone Festival 2025

The Varadero Josone Festival: Rumba, Jazz & Son will open its fifth edition tonight with a lineup led by Cuban performers, launching an intense program that will run through August 31 and feature both national and international voices.
According to information shared on the festival’s official Facebook page, the renowned group Moncada, celebrated for its influential role across generations of Cuban music, will take the stage at Josone Park at 10 p.m.
They will be followed by El Hijo de Teresa and La Llegada, along with popular singer David Torrens, maestro Cándido Fabré and his band. To delight audiences wishing to continue the celebration into the early hours, the night will close with a performance by Velito El Bufón.
Osbel Marrero Acosta, Director of Culture in the province of Matanzas, expressed his commitment to the success of the festival, emphasizing that the goal is “to bring the summer season to a close in grand style, with top-tier ensembles.”
The Facebook page Cultura Matancera announced transportation options from various municipalities. In the case of the city of Matanzas, buses will depart for Josone at 7 p.m. from René Fraga, La Libertad, Peñas Altas, and Maceo parks, as well as from Goicuría Square.
Festival organizers also highlighted that tickets can be purchased in Havana and Matanzas, with details available through the event’s official Facebook page. Entry passes may also be obtained via the mobile application “La Papeleta,” available for download at https://lapapeleta.cu/download/.
Sponsored by the Ministries of Culture and Tourism, along with the Provincial Directorate of Culture in Matanzas, the Varadero Josone Festival 2025 is organized by the National Center for Popular Music, the Cuban Institute of Music, and the Música Punto Cero project.
