A new group of 242 migrants returned today from Mexico to Venezuela as part of the government plan Return to the Homeland, which in recent days allowed the return of more than 600 people.

The Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, and other authorities, welcomed the compatriots at the Simón Bolívar international airport in Maiquetía, in the state of La Guaira (north), among whom are children, adolescents, women and men.

The plane of the national airline Conviasa touched Venezuelan soil at 10:25 in the morning local time and later the high official went inside the plane to share with the new arrivals and explain the protocols to be followed.

“Where women and children come, the country comes,” he said, and pointed out they previously received two other flights from Texas, United States, from where only men returned.

The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela pointed out that this group left the country and now decided to return as part of this State policy promoted by President Nicolás Maduro since 2018, which guaranteed the return of more than 900 thousand compatriots.

He explained that the protocol to be followed with this group is different from the two previous ones on February 10 and 20, but still, “all identification and security control procedures will be carried out, as well as the delivery of ID cards to those who do not have them.”

The political leader commented that a single 16-year-old girl and other minors without identification who “were born there and have not been registered” are coming.

“We are ready and willing to assist them with the delivery of identification cards, medical and psychological examination and the police record of each of the adults,” he stressed.

Cabello pointed out that this is done with rigor “because the first information was that criminals were returning to Venezuela,” and he guaranteed that those who “have nothing to do with justice are taken to their homes as the world has been able to see.”

He stressed that this has a lot to do with the humanistic and sincere character of the Bolivarian Revolution and the Government “does it absolutely free because there are no intermediaries of any kind,” he denounced in reference to those who intend to profit from this humanitarian act.

“Welcome to our country, to the homeland and in compliance with the President’s instruction we receive you as brothers and lovingly,” he stressed.
