Biden Appear Before Media, Avoid Calling Trump’s Shooting an Assassination Attempt

US President Joe Biden appeared before the press this Saturday to condemn the attack against the former Republican president Donald Trump and ruled out calling it an assassination attempt: “I have an opinion, but I don’t have any facts.”

Biden had initially spoken through a statement issued by the White House, where he was glad that his Republican opponent is well and stressed that “I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information.”

Biden said he hoped to speak with Trump this Saturday, who had to leave the stage with blood in his ear. The Republican politician was holding a rally in Butler, in the key state of Pennsylvania, when shots were fired.

Two people were killed, including the assailant himself, and according to US media with information provided by security forces, what happened is being investigated as an assassination attempt.

The president stressed that this kind of violence cannot be allowed to take place in the United States and made it clear that the Republican’s rally should have been held peacefully and smoothly.

That election was held days before the Republican National Convention scheduled from Monday until Thursday in Milwaukee (Wisconsin), which will confirm Trump’s nomination as a Republican candidate.

According to sources from Biden’s campaign to CBS News, the Democrats have paused all campaign ads at public events and all media advertising.
