UN Denounces Famine in Gaza and Accuses Israel of Blocking Aid

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA) denounced the growing famine in the Gaza Strip and accused Israel of forbidding the entry of food into the territory.
“Hunger is everywhere in Gaza, the situation in the north is tragic, where (the entrance of) aid by land is denied despite repeated appeals,” the agency stated on X. “Ramadan, the holy month for Muslims, is approaching, and the death toll continues to rise,” the agency stressed.
In the face of this situation, UNRWA pointed out that allowing unrestricted humanitarian access and an immediate ceasefire are imperative to save lives.
Two days ago, the agency’s commissioner general, Philippe Lazzarini, also demanded the entry of humanitarian aid without restrictions.
