Syria urges Arab unity in face of Israeli aggression

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mekdad stressed on Monday the need for a united Arab position to stop the current Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and support the Palestinians there.
This position by the head of Syrian diplomacy was expressed in a telephone call with Tunisian counterpart Nabil Ammar and his Omani counterpart Badr al-Busaidi.
Al-Mekdad expressed Damascus’ condemnation of the crimes committed by Israel, its violations of human rights, and appalling disregard for international law.
Carrying out Arab and international efforts to stop this brutal attack, delivering humanitarian and food aid, and restoring water and electricity to more than two million Palestinians living in Gaza is essential, the Syrian foreign minister said.
Al-Mekdad, Ammar, and Al-Busaidi stressed the need to take urgent steps to stop this aggression, shamefully supported by some Western governments.
